Bricklaying students receive bumper load of bricks

A lorry load of almost 10,000 bricks, enough to build an entire house, has been generously donated by one of the UK’s leading brick suppliers, Michelmersh.

As part of their ‘Pledge 100 initiative’, Michelmersh have been donating 100,000 brick products to colleges and bricklaying courses across the UK, every year since 2020. Thanks to this initiative, Southport College’s state of the art bricklaying and construction workshop now benefits from an incredible store of 9,600 top-quality bricks, keeping our student bricklayers busy for years to come!

The generous donation is very much appreciated by everyone at the College, particularly the students, who will benefit the most. Principal Michelle Brabner highly praised the initiative, “On behalf of the entire team I’d like to say a huge thank you to Michelmersh for your support and very generous donation. This fantastic initiative will truly benefit our students and Southport College to continue in its commitment to provide excellent, sustainable education and training.”

Sarah Le Gresley, Marketing Director at Michelmersh told us that they are “proud to have supported Southport College as part of the Pledge 100, enabling its students to use high quality products to develop their skills, aiding the next generation of skilled bricklayers.”
