This, according to England’s School Standards Minister Nick Gibb, will give “reassurance and clarity” to students. Although we are still in times of uncertainty, receiving results on these days will give a little more confidence in being able to make informed decisions on progression in education and employment.
Although there has been a substantial change in the way grades are awarded this year, a thorough collaboration by the exam boards and Ofqual has ensured that a standardised, fair grading system has been put in place. Awarding bodies are gathering assessments from teachers and tutors, building evidence of predicted grades. This will be thoroughly moderated to ensure that predictions are fair, and that the overall national results fall in line with results from previous years.
