If you’re looking to develop a career in, health or nursing and midwifery, adult learners can choose from a range of health related courses.
The Health & Social Care Sector
The UK has both an ageing population and an increasing birth rate, which means that health and social care skills are going to be in demand for some time to come. If you are looking to pursue a career in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, midwifery or other health and social care roles. Our Health & Social Care courses are an ideal start. Our course are vocational, so you will be putting your skills in to practise as you learn. The courses are designed to give you the skills employer are looking for and provide you with valuable experience in your chosen sector.
Access courses
The Open Awards Level 3 Access to Higher Education Diplomas are specifically designed to help applicants who wish to study at degree level, but do not have the current qualifications required for entry.
Access to Health
On the Access to Health course you will study a range of modules including health studies, health sciences (biology), psychology and personal development for entry on to nursing degree programmes or other health professions.
Access to Nursing & Midwifery
The Access to Nursing & Midwifery course allows progression on to nursing and midwifery degree programmes or other health related courses such as Physiotherapy or Public Health and you will study a number of subjects including human biology, health studies, psychology and research skills. Level 3 courses can be paid for using an Advanced Learner Loan.
Careers Advice & Guidance
As an adult learner you’ll have access to the careers and university resources and you can also access course and careers advice and guidance through our Student Information Centre. You tutor will also discuss careers options and applications with you.
