Student in Guild of Bricklayers Senior Competition

Southport College Bricklaying student, James Berry takes third place at the Guilds of Bricklayers North West Senior Competition, hosted at City of Liverpool College.

The Guild of Bricklayers is a nationwide organisation who are dedicated to upholding excellence in brickwork. They run yearly regional competitions at junior and senior levels to celebrate upcoming bricklaying talent across the country.

During the contest, participants are given a bricklaying plan where they have around 6 hours to complete it to a high standard. Despite tough competition, one of our entrants, James showcased high levels of skill, artistry, and professionalism, securing himself a solid third place in the North West competition. He was awarded a box of high quality bricklaying tools and a certificate for his achievements.

All of us here at Southport College are very proud of James. Not only did he demonstrate a high level of expertise and work ethic, he represented the College with distinction. We can’t wait to see what he achieves in the future!
